Big Black did not become recognized as the greatest hand drummer in the world without a lifetime of serious study of the art of drumming. This study of mankind's most basic and universal of musical instruments has  resulted in his creating  innovative drumming techniques which have in turn made him a master communicator.  He is condidered the leading practitioner of the use of the drumbeat within meditation circles to reconnect  the Individual Soul to the Cosmos.

 He has spent a lifetime traveling amongst the diverse cultures of the world, learning the universal truths that connect the drumbeat to the center of our universe and thus to the very heartbeat of man. During  a half century of study and practice he has created and practices what is now known as "Big Black's Environmental Rhythm  School of Druming".
