AMERICAN MUSICAL AMBASSADOR FOR PEACE

For  more than four decades following in the footsteps of Louis Armstrong, Big Black has served the nation as one of its goodwill musical ambassadors by using his unique musical talents to let those around the globe understand that Americans do share the love of peace with all peoples. He has especially carried the message of peace from America to those in  third world countries, who while they may not understand the nuances of peace treaties and global diplomacy, fully comprehend the essence of the universality of the brotherhood of man as expessed by Big Black's music. 

In turn, the muscial knowledge of the third world Black learned while touring overseas, even before those State Department Tours, allowed him to introduce into our musical consciousness an awareness of the world  music scene, which up until that time was generally unknown  except to a small cadre of his professional contempories. The release of his groundbreaking and innovative UNI albums forecast  the coming of a new genre, long before  "World Music", as it is now known, became popular, fashionable, & commercial.
